Item Description

A classic and showy large almandine garnet specimen from Alaska. Two lustrous, deep wine-red dodecahedrons with with trapezohedral modifications are aesthetically set in the sculptural sparkly biotite schist matrix plate. The crystal on the right is 1.4 cm and has flashes of cherry-red translucence. The 1.5 cm crystal on the left glows with much more cherry-red gemminess, when back lit. An excellent and highly displayable specimen of this famous material. You don't see much of this fine material around anymore.
