Item Description

This impressive and sculptural large two-sided schist matrix plate hosts over 20 aesthetically scattered dark wine-red almandine garnet trapezohedrons. The crystals reach 1.7 cm. Gorgeous cherry-red color lights up these translucent almandine garnet crystals, when they are strongly backlit! The broken crystals across the top and one broken crystal on one side are noted, but are certainly only a modest detraction to this excellent large two-sided piece. Specimens from this obscure, privately owned locale are seldom on the market. A must for the New England or species collector.
