Item Description

These Almandines are well-known classics and arguably the most famous examples of Garnet from any locality in Nevada. Please note, we've listed these specimens as Spessartine in the past, but they are truly Almandine as chemical analysis of these specimens has shown a higher iron content vs manganese. This piece features a fine quality, isolated sharp, well-formed, dark red color, trapezohedron measuring 7 mm which is beautifully set into a little vug in is rhyolite matrix. This piece was collected by a friend of ours in September 2018 while traveling from California to Denver.
