Item Description
Almandine garnet specimens are RARE from this historic area of the Urals. Sharp, lustrous, wine-red dodecahedrons, to 1.2 cm, are richly scattered on the sculptural, sparkly chlorite schist matrix plate. All of the crystals have striking and beautiful areas of cherry-red gemminess, adding much pizzazz. Older material marketed in the early 1990s, when the Fersman Museum of Moscow first came to the US.
