Item Description

Almandine garnet specimens are rare from this well-known granite pegmatite, famous for rare phosphate species. A 2.2 cm, sharp, lustrous, reddish-brown crystal with flashes of cherry-red translucence under bright light is nicely set in the pegmatite matrix. The pristine crystal is a trapezahedron with minor dodecahedron faces. Very choice and rare old-time material. The crystal is LARGE for the locale. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
