A 3.8 cm, sharp, lustrous mottled wine-red, textbook almandine garnet dodecahedron is very jauntily perched atop the sculptural muscovite schist matrix on this showy and excellent classic from this famous locale. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only very trivial edge wilbers. The garnets are physically extracted from the enclosing schist and are lightly buffed to bring out the luster and color. This classic locale has fascinated European collectors for hundreds of years.
