Item Description

A 1.5 cm, sharp, lustrous, modified almandine garnet trapezohedron is aesthetically set in a 3.3 cm vug lined with quartz points in the blocky rhyolite matrix. Flashes of orange-red color highlight the deep brown crystal. A small bruise on the outer edge of the garnet is certainly only a modest detraction to this showy, highly representative example from this well-known Nevada locale.
