Almandine (ex Mikell Collection)

Item Description

A rarely seen example of the hard to find Almandine crystals from Markstay. I've only seen one other piece of this material. It's a very good sized, fairly sharp, semi-lustrous, rich purplish-red color dodecahedron. It's not a complete "floater", and as it does have a contact on the back, but it's still in good condition for this elusive material. Attention Garnet collectors or Canadian mineral collectors, don't miss out on this one. The piece comes from the collection of Bev & Mars Mikell.
