Item Description
Most of the Almandine crystals from Wrangell Island typically don't measure much more than 1 inch (2.5 cm), but this single "floater" crystal measures a whopping 4.1 cm across, making it one of the biggest crystals I've seen from the locality. The piece shows mostly trapezohedral faces with that classic dark red hue. The crystal is so big that it's virtually opaque, but the faces are smooth and lustrous and very well-formed for the size. If you collect worldwide Garnets, don't miss out on this impressive single crystal from this famous locality in Alaska. Valued at $1300. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #8384).
