Allophane (new find - beautiful color)

This piece comes to us from the relatively new find in 2020, which was one of the delightful surprises to come out of China during that time. It's not what you would expect from the Qinlong Mine, because it's is a gold / antimony producer, though there have been some interesting and attractive secondary minerals, such as these beautiful new Allophanes. This piece is an attractive lightweight specimen of Allophane with a mixture of strong and sky blue hues, and eye-catching almost "banded" formation. A small amount of matrix is attached. Not typically what you'd expect from this aluminum silicate species, especially with such a vibrant color (which is most likely due to the presence of copper).
