Item Description
Here we have an attractive specimen from the new find in 2020, which was one of the delightful surprises to come out of China. The Qinlong Mine is a gold / antimony producer, but it has also given us some attractive secondary minerals, such as these beautiful new Allophanes. This piece is an attractive lightweight specimen of Allophane with a gorgeous strong blue hue, and eye-catching almost "banded" formation. A small amount of matrix is attached. Not typically what you'd expect from this aluminum silicate species, especially with such a vibrant color (which is most likely due to the presence of copper).
