Allophane (fine blue color)

Item Description

This piece dates back to a discovery in 2020 at the Qinglong Mine in China, which produced some really unique and beautiful Allophane specimens. This is an eye-catching miniature comprising a lightweight crust of almost flowing blue Allophane with very minor matrix. This brightly colored piece of this aluminum species has an almost flowing and ethereal form to it. The quality, character and overall appearance make for a unique and eye-catching specimen. The variable blue color is excellent for the species, though it grades into white in some areas. It's not a heavy specimen but beautiful to be sure.
