Alligator Smoky Quartz

A dramatic, LARGE CABINET, smoky quartz stalactite from a recent find in Summer of 2009 in Minas Gerais. These smokies have the striking "alligator" look, where the quartz crystals look like the large plates in an alligator"s hide. Many of these very glassy, transparent smoky quartz crystals have distinctive darker crystal edges and are doubly terminated. This fabulous, tapered piece looks like a scepter capped by an uncut, giant, 5.6 cm, glassy, water-clear, smoky "diamond"! Overall, this excellent, complete all-around, flattened, large piece is nearly pristine, with only very trivial bruising along the periphery. Stunning new material, and a superb and sharp piece of very high and select quality, that we picked from a large lot imported in mid-2009. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
