Item Description
A RARE sharp two-sided euhedral prismatic black Allanite-(Ce) crystal from an EXTREMELY RARE locality in Eastern Siberia. Allanite-(Ce), is a REE species of the Allanite Group of the Epidote Supergroup. The crystal has good luster and a partial oxide coating. Both sides and the top are sharp, with both ends and the base being contacted or attachments. The label lists an unknown locality in the Sakha Republic with an OLD 1959 date. The Olyokma River is a tributary of the major Lena River in eastern Siberia (WIKIPEDIA). VERY RARE material. From a Russian suite we purchased at Tucson about ten years ago, of historical specimens! I have not seen another like this since and we value it highly
