Item Description
Allanite-(Ce), a REE species of the Allanite Group of the Epidote Supergroup is EXTREMELY RARE from any of the localities MINDAT lists for Eastern Siberia. This RARE large euhedral black crystal has moderate luster and a partial oxide coating. All four sides are sharp, with both ends being contacted or attachments. The bit of attached matrix adds character. The labels lists an unknown locality in the Sakha Republic with an OLD 1959 date. The Olyokma River is a tributary of the major Lena River in eastern Siberia (WIKIPEDIA). VERY RARE material. From a Russian suite we purchased at Tucson about ten years ago, of historical specimens!
