Allanite

Item Description

A rarely seen Allanite (a member of the Epidote supergroup) specimen from near Butte, Jefferson County, Montana. The crystals are sharp, and well-formed and good sized for the species. A cool Allanite specimen from this lesser known locality for the material. Allanite is not actually a species, and I cannot say for sure, which species of Allanite this is, as they are not common from Montana.
