Alexandrite rough and cut set

Item Description

This is a superb set of rough and cut alexandrite, the rare gem chrysoberyl species with color change properties. The crystal is a full thumbnail, a floater crystal that is unusually flattenned in form. It is VIVIDLY RED when backlit with a halogen light, and dark green in normal fluorescent indoor room lighting as shown here. The gemstone is 6 x 4 x 3 mm and 0.82 carats. It shows a good color change of purple to blue-green. This set is valued at $2000 and comes from the personal collection of my source and friend down in Brazil.
