Alexandrite

Item Description

An interesting Alexandrite gem from Brazil that shows a slight chatoyance on the surface when it's rotated in the light. Even though this is a faceted stone, it almost has a "cat's eye" effect. The stone doesn't show much of a color change, as it has a blue-green hue in sunlight, and more of a silvery tone in indoor lighting. The gem has a "Square" cut and it's translucent for all intents and purposes.
