Item Description

A rarely seen association specimen from Alchuri, a famous Alpine-type cleft deposit in the high mountains of the Shigar Valley in Pakistan, best known for its fantastic Epidote specimens. This small cabinet specimen features many narrow white crystals of Albite measuring up to 8 mm, associated with fibrous, dark greenish-black Actinolite on matrix. I've only seen a handful of these over the years, and this particular specimen is certainly different as the tapered habit of the Albite crystals is notably unlike the more blocky habit I remember seeing for Albites from this locality years ago. No major damage I can see, and a really cool example of this elusive material that would make a great addition to any Alpine or Alpine-type suite of minerals, or a collection of specimens from Pakistan.
Ex Richard ("Rich") A. Kosnar collection, the well-known dealer and collector from Colorado (1946-2007). Rich loved Alpine and Alpine-type minerals, and built many suites of specimens from various worldwide localities.
