Item Description

Pericline is the blocky, prismatic / elongated variety of Albite, often find in Alpine cleft deposits. This piece is really attractive featuring sharp, well-formed, rather lustrous, somewhat porcelain-esque, milky white crystals of Pericline measuring up to 3.0 cm free of matrix from this world famous valley in Switzerland. Good condition overall, with the only real damage around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. The BEST aspect of the piece is that it has a stark white color, and it's not coated by green Clinochlore ("Chlorite") which is often seen in this material, and is considered undesirable, so this piece is very "clean" compared to many I've seen from the Binntal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
