Item Description
Albite variety oligoclase is RARE from this historic old iron sulfide deposit. First documented mining took place in 1436 and continued intermittently until 1962 (MINDAT). Sharp, glassy, colorless to oxide-tinted crystals, to 1.2 cm, and crystal sections are scattered in the sulfide matrix. From an East Coast collection and comes with a century-old, water-stained, torn and faded Ward's label. Not pretty to look at, but a RARE highly representative example of the species and famous old locality.
