Item Description

Here we have a very showy and fine quality small cabinet display specimen of excellent crystallized Albite from an unlikely locality in New Mexico. Albite specimens without the association of Orthoclase, Microcline or Quartz are RARE from the Organ Mountains. This is an aesthetically intergrown cluster of blocky, pearlescent, creamy, compound crystals that have a slight curvature to their growth, creating a three-dimensional and very eye-catching specimen. The associated black (or VERY dark green) mineral on the specimen is unidentified, but is likely a Pyroxene species, possibly Augite. A truly choice and rare Albite specimen from Chris Cowan New Mexico Collection. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
