Item Description
Typically Albite crystals from the Swiss Alps aren't terribly noteworthy, but this particular piece is an attractive and superbly crystallized specimen featuring a rather thick, very sharp, highly lustrous, well-crystallized, white to colorless, gemmy crystal flaring off of additional Albite matrix. The crystal is contacted on one side, but is still a very good example for any Alpine locality, especially in Switzerland. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12911). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
