Albite on Sodalite (strong fluoresence)

Item Description

This specimen features a large single textbook-sharp sodalite crystal covered with white albite crystals from Mont Saint-Hilaire. The sodalite crystal is sharp, with clear edges, and is perfectly sized for a thumbnail. Remarkably, the entire crystal glows a bright orange under UV light, making it a stunning display piece. The original label on many of these shows that the albite fully replaces the sodalite, but this is not true at least in this case: The sodalite is still visible from the back, where it is partially etched, adding an extra layer of interest to this unique and eye-catching specimen.
