Item Description
While this area is best known for its superb Aquamarine crystals, this piece is a fine quality specimen of crystallized Albite. The piece is aesthetic, three-dimensional and really looks great from several angles. You can see it sparkles with highly lustrous, milky white crystals that have overgrown a previous generation of Feldspar (possibly Microcline?) with no other associations or matrix. A very attractive and seldom seen specimen of this wonderful material from this remote region in southern central Idaho. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
