Alabandite is uncommon Mn-sulfide. From an obscure Sonora locale, this piece is solid massive alabandite with lustrous crystal cleavages on the front and a couple of sharp, well-formed crystals to 7 mm in a vug on the back. From the Eugene Carmichael Collection and comes with a Ward's label.
