Alabandite is uncommon Mn-sulfide, with collector-quality specimens well-known from this noted locale, renowned for excellent wire silver, rhodochrosite and acanthite specimens. A sharp, 1.3 cm, lustrous, jet-black, cuboctahedron is jauntily set atop the quartz and sulfide matrix on this showy and excellent miniature.
