Item Description

This is a classic small cabinet specimen of Ajoite included Quartz from South Africa from the original finds in the 1980s! Finely divided patches of turquoise-blue Ajoite are included and prominently displayed within the terminations of transparent Quartz crystals. These colorful, plumose patches of Ajoite inclusions are prominent in the larger, more stout Quartz crystal and a few of the adjacent, smaller crystals. The largest crystal measures 2 cm by 2 cm and displays the Ajoite inclusions really well within the pyramidal and prism faces internal to the crystal. They display similarly well inside the surrounding 3 mm to 1 cm Quartz crystals. The small Quartz crystals on the other end of the piece show limited Ajoite and do exhibit some orange-brown Goethite staining just inside the surface of the crystal. This is a very good small cabinet specimen by any standard for the locality.
