Item Description
Agrellite is a rare columnar silicate and this famous alkaline complex is the Type Locality. One-third of this hefty piece is pearlescent, columnar agrellite. A 2.0 x 2.0 cm mass of glassy, yellow-green vlasovite (a rare Na-Zr silicate) is embedded in gemmy cherry-red to granular, lavender eudialyte. The vlasovite fluoresces yellow-green under SW UV light and the agrellite fluoresces bright pink under both SW and LW UV. A very showy, rich and colorful example of the rare species from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
