Item Description

A showy, large, sculptural pair from a sliced and polished, hollow, very artistic colony of coral - you can see the pattern on the outside - that has been replaced or filled inside with botryoidal and banded chalcedony. The polished faces have amazing transparency and the lustrous botryoids have a variety of colors, from shades of blue to gray to amber to tan to white and colorless. This is one of those unusual cases where biology meets mineralogy. An excellent specimen. Ex Hauck Collection. This one has fine form.
