Item Description
A stunning pair from a sliced and polished hollow, very elongate colony of coral - you can see the pattern on the outside - that has been replaced or filled inside with botryoidal and banded chalcedony. The lustrous botryoids have a variety of color, from pretty lavender to creamy. This is a striking contrast to the water-clear, amber rims! This is one of those unusual cases where biology meets mineralogy. The bases have been sawed to enhance the display quality. This is a dramatic specimen.
