Item Description

A very sculptural, large, sliced and polished, hollow, agatized coral fossil! In mineral terms, this would certainly qualify as a pseudomorph. Lustrous, translucent, bubbly, brown botryoids line the interior and some have a purple tint. The couple of stalactites are a super nifty accent. The hollow "eye" is eye catching and the piece looks like a fish. This is one of those unusual cases where biology meets mineralogy. This excellent specimen is from the Hauck Collection.
