Item Description

A really cool and eye-catching specimen of Agate / Chalcedony replacing botryoidal Coral from Tampa Bay in Florida. I have seen this material categorized as being fossilized, but in mineral terms, this would certainly qualify as a pseudomorph. The piece has a beautiful mix of white, caramel and blue colors when viewed in reflected light, and when backlit, the piece is actually slightly gemmy showing a golden coloration. The wonderful form combined with the fact that this is a mineral replacing organic matter (similar to petrified wood, or clam shells replaced by Opal). Great to view from several directions, and one of the very few pieces of the material that I have seen. Please note that this piece is somewhat fragile, and it's big, so it will require an additional shipping cost. Please keep this in mind when bidding.
