Item Description
I have only seen a few of these, as they are from a new find in Indonesia at the end of 2016. A piece of translucent, soft cream/pink/lavender colored Agate which has pseudomorphed / replaced bamboo to create a really cool overall specimen. The piece is actually polished to show off the internal growth areas of the bamboo. The radial "spot" on the specimen represents a single stalk of bamboo which was covered by amorphous Quartz (Agate in this case) and slowly replaced the organic material to create a semi-fossil. If you collect Quartz or its varieties, interesting replacement / pseudomorphs, or oddball pieces that involve organic material, don't miss out on this one.
