Item Description
Youngite is a variety of agate. It is the local name for agate or jasper coated with drusy quartz crystals (mindat) and is unique to this locality in Wyoming. The dramatic and sculptural large 360-degree coral-shaped piece of brecciated jasper is coated with sparkly, translucent gray druzy quartz. The top of the piece and the few bruised areas reveal the underlying rust-red jasper. A striking BONUS is that the drusy quartz is included with hyalite opal or a uranium mineral, that fluoresces a beautiful neon-green. Ex Gary Weaver Collection.
