Agate (RARE Iraq locale)

MINDAT does not list quartz variety agate as one of their 83 valid mineral species for Iraq. This RARE, possibly unique specimen is from a Czech collection. This classic, very showy sliced and polished banded agate is highlighted by the beautiful white banding surrounding the sculptural vug lined with sparkly drusy quartz botryoids. The outer zone of transparent to translucent, gray-blue to gray to light brown agate is a nice compliment to the striking interior. VERY RARE Iraq agate.
