Item Description
Here we have a gorgeous naturally colored (untreated) Agate from this remote locality in northern Queensland, Australia. If you look up the entry for Agate Creek on mindat.org, it's the most famous Agate locality in the entire country. Although the locality has been known since at least the 1890s, there wasn't a lot of collecting at Agate Creek until the second half of the 20th Century. A wide array of colors and patterns can be seen in this material, and they are truly some of the most attractive Agates you'll find from any locality. This piece featuring alternating bands of purple, blue and red hues to create a showy and fine quality example of this classic material. From the collection of Robert ("Bob") Nowakowski. Specimen weight is 65.3 grams.
