Afghanite (Type Locality) on Marble ex Obodda

An uncommonly translucent, rich sapphire-blue afghanite crystal glows with rich color saturation, when backlit, on this adorable thumbnail from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. The sharp, lustrous terminated crystal is elegantly perched on the sliver of marble matrix. Complete all-around and pristine. Part of the termination on the side and back is contacted, but there is no damage, per se. The Koksha Valley is the Type Locality for afghanite. Choice material. Valued by Herb at $500 more than six years ago.
