Item Description

I've never actually seen a piece of Aeschinite from Miass (Miask) before this specimen. The species has been known from this locality for many years, but to actually have one in your hand is significant. This piece features a 2.2 cm, sharp, fairly well-formed, jet black orthorhombic crystal with a pyramidal termination sitting on medium-grained pink feldspar and mica matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7777). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
