Aegirine (rare locale)

The piece comes to us from an old East Coast collection, and comes with an historic label from the legendary mineral dealer, Hugh A. Ford. Since the label has Ford's New York address, it dates to 1946-1957. This is a hard to find crystallized example of Aegirine from the famous locality at Magnet Cove, Arkansas. A 5.2 cm, sharp, lustrous, prismatic crystal of Aegirine sits smartly on host rock matrix. The crystal doesn't appear to be terminated, but these are rare, and certainly worth picking up if you collect Magnet Cove material.
