Aegirine (excellent crystal) with Microcline

The Aegirine crystals from Mount Malosa are undoubtedly the finest examples of the species ever found. The crystals are not only large for the species, but they are remarkably sharp, well-formed and highly lustrous. This piece features an exemplary crystal as not only are the prism faces glossy and well-defined, but the termination is quite smooth, which is not commonly seen in this material as the terminations of these crystals can often have thin "fibrous" growth that almost looks like a form of etching. The smooth and surprisingly lustrous termination on this crystal is very impressive for the species and the locality, so if you're a fan of Pyroxene minerals, or you like Mount Malosa material, this is a VERY worthwhile example to add to your collection. No damage that I can see, and the added association of some beige colored Microcline crystals at the base of the Aegirine makes for a really nice touch. A super large miniature / small cabinet display specimen of a mineral that is not often seen in fine quality display pieces.
