Item Description
A group of sharp, well-formed, rather lustrous, blocky and partially gemmy white/colorless crystals of Adularia (a variety of K-Feldspar) with the classic "adularescence" or "moonstone" effect which shows a shimmer when rotated in the light. The crystals are associated with very minor Hematite "roses" to create a slight two-tone effect. The largest Adularia crystal measures 3.6 cm long. These are classics from this well-known peak in the Swiss Alps. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9561). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
