Adularia with Beryl (ex Robert Ferguson Collection) (with a label from Henry Heuland)

Item Description

An old-time Adularia specimen from an unknown locality in Sweden. This specimen hosts sharp, off-white Adularia crystals up to 7 mm with Beryl (according to the label) on matrix. The most historically significant aspect of the piece is the fact that it comes with a label from Johann Heinrich "John Henry" Heuland (the namesake for Heulandite!). This piece dates to the collection of Sir Robert Ferguson (1769-1840). He was a member of Parliament and the landed nobility from Fife, Scotland (he had stopped collecting by 1810). This piece came to us in 1998 from a single drawer of pieces recovered in the Ferguson family estate, specimen #580.
