Item Description
A RARE, rich and dramatic large K Feldspar variety adularia plate from a most obscure Austrian locale. Green chlorite strikingly and preferentially coats and is included in some of the myriad of sharp, lustrous, translucent crystals with frosted faces. The imposing large coated adularia crystal is 2.5 cm on the diagonal. From a RARE Tyrol locale. Defreggerhaus is a shelter owned by the Austrian Tourist Club and was built in 1887. Adularia is RARE from the Pragraten area. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 867 and acquired in the 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Choice and rare large Austrian adularia with multiple display views. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
