Item Description
A wonderful Alpine Feldpsar from the area where the first material was described and named in 1780. The Adula Mountains or Adula Massif was the first discovery of this variety of K-Feldspar variety. Most Fedlspars in the world are not traslucent, let alone GEM quality! This 3.1 cm crystal has amazingly clear areas where small gemstones or cabochons could be cut. It's very sharp and lustrous and despite a bit of roughness on the back, the main crystal is very impressive. It's sitting on typical matrix for the area. You just don't see Feldspar like this from any world locality, and the fact that this one is Swiss already makes it a bit more valuable than its Italian or Austrian counterparts. A small sidecar Adularia makes for a great touch. How often have you seen a Feldpsar like this from the Alps? Don't miss out. The piece comes with a label from Watzl Minerals (before the split).
