Item Description

An incredibly sharp and unusually isolated 1.3 cm, isolated, equant, orthorhombic, adamite crystal with sharp double chisel terminations from Mina Ojuela. The lustrous, translucent, yellow-green crystal is jauntily set on the sturdy gossan matrix and nicely accented by the smaller crystals on one edge. Interestingly, one end of the crystal is a lighter yellow and more translucent and is the only section of the crystal, that has the classic bright yellow-green fluorescence. A small contact, with no damage, per se, from the roof of the vug with embedded iron oxide, is noted along one termination edge. A superb and very fine old-timer from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection. He purchased this in Zurich in 1975 for 150 Swiss francs from the Herb Obodda Collection. We have never seen an Ojuela adamite crystal of this combination of form, size and isolation. Esoteric, perhaps, but exquisite!
