Item Description

One of the most classic localities for Adamite in the world is the Ojuela mine in Mexico. This material is some of the most beautiful and classic material for the species. This particular specimen features a predominant 1.0 cm, classic "pinwheel"-habit group comprising many lustrous, yellow-green, "wedge"-shaped crystals of Adamite in a radiating "burst" associated with a few other Adamite groups on oxidized matrix. This material will go down as some of the finest quality and color Adamite in history. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
