Item Description

Adamite from the Ojuela Mine in Mexico has come out in a crazy variety of style, over decades. It still comes out today, although modern specimens seem not to give us very big crystals. This particular style seems to date from the 1970s-1980s heyday of specimen recovery here, and features HUGE, thick, dramatic crystals to 1 inch, sharply defined, and with a pleasing yellow-amber color tone. The piece is a superb miniature, complete all around. Valued $900-1200. It is from the miniatures subcollection of Bill Panczner. Bill was curator of the Arizona Desert Museum and author of the still-definitive book MINERALS OF MEXICO (1987); so his provenance is of some value here.
