Item Description
A perfectly formed, classically shaped, ribbon-like cluster of adamite crystals stand perched dramatically on a well balanced shard of the typical Ojuela Mine matrix here. The color is the classic early 1980s, apple yellow-green hue, sometimes referred to as granny smith apple color - but with sparkle and luster! The crystals show unusually good definition as they are vertical from matrix, not a complete hemisphere as usual (where you cannot see inside and only see the tops) but more like a mohawk shape, standing up. This way, you see the side structure, and the glistening tops as the crystals merge together to make a rounded shape atop, both. This is one of the best examples in the size for overall equalities, that we have seen in awhile. A perfect, small miniature size. This is from the famous and long lost collection (disappeared since the late 1980s) of author and collector William Panczner, author of Minerals Of Mexico (still the most important work on systematic collector quality minerals of Mexico). Valued $1200-1500.
