Item Description
This mine is very well known for it's Adamite specimens, but it is the highly sought after Manganoan variety of Adamite found here that makes it such a significant locality. This piece features a pair of spherical aggregates comprising lustrous, translucent yellow and purple color crystals of Adamite sitting on Limonite matrix. I've photographed some of the crystals under the microscope to help show the great quality, luster and gemminess. To my understanding, there was only one significant find of this material at Ojuela, and they are by far the most prized of all Adamite varieties found here. The coloration and variation is really unusual for the locality. The piece is from the Brian Kosnar collection.
